Bespoke window designs

I can create a bespoke design for your shop or private residence at a fee which will include design and installation.

How long will it take?

I will require photos and measurements for the size of your window to estimate how much time it might take. The design and prep work could be a few days before the actual installation. Multiple windows will need more time and will incur additional fees.

What is the material you use?

Generally, for a white line window I use Posca white chalk pens which are very effective for coverage and can be safely removed using warm soapy water. For more bespoke colours, acrylic paint is best for areas of block colour and can be removed by using an old credit card to scrape off the glass. Please make sure there is no coating on the glass.

What is your process?

From your brief, I provide visuals throughout the process for you to approve before the installation. I’d need a photo of the window(s) to gauge positions and sizing. I do a sketch first for you to check and approve before starting on the window itself. I can draw this freehand on your window however, if it is a bespoke design or text I mark out the elements using paper or sketch it out using a thinner pen first. As the chalk pens and paints are water based, the design will be drawn on the interior of the building to be protected from the weather.

Can you write messages or do typography on the window?

Yes, I will have to prepare a sketch first for approval. This will also take more time as the letters will be drawn back-to-front.

Is there anything we need to do to prepare for your arrival?

To make the best out of your window feature it would be good to clean the window first, both inside and outside, vinegar is fine. Any breakable items or large pieces of furniture will have to moved out of the way. If there is carpet, a dust sheet would be useful but I cover the floor with newspaper. I will need a step ladder to reach the top of the windows. I do not have one myself. If in a shop or small business premises you will need to make sure the window is accessible and that any display items or merchandise are removed prior to my arrival.

How much does this all cost?

Each installation depends on the dimensions and the level of detail of the design. Multiple windows will cost more.

How can I make a payment?

I will send through an invoice with my bank details for you to make a bank transfer.
